Pick up the phone for fair pay

Pick up the phone for Fair Pay. Join with other people around Queensland who are part of our Fair Pay campaign in calling people to ask for their support in Mansfield and Mount Coot-tha.

Why?

You are uniquely placed to get this message about fair pay across, public servants like you are best placed to tell the story about why Campbell Newman's broken promise are costing you and your local community money.

We trialed this technology a few weeks back and have had positive feedback.

Why now?

Before things get crazy during the election, we are taking things to the next level. That starts on Saturday 6 December and Sunday 7 December, members will be doorknocking to talk to people about Campbell Newman's broken promise and asking for their support in the work that they do delivering services.

You can give them a hand by talking to residents and sharing your story on the phone.

Rescheduled - please note

Tuesday 9 December 6:00pm - 7:30pm calling people in Mansfield

Wednesday 10 December 10:30am - 1:30pm calling people in Mount Coot-tha

It's a big week for this to happen, as we will also have ads running all across Queensland. Ads that are only happening because of you and your commitment. It's a chance for us to make the most of this momentum for Fair Pay.

You can be part of building that momentum and pressure the government to deliver on fair pay now.

Why now?

Mansfield and Mount Coot-tha are going to be key seats in deciding whether Queenslanders will have three more years of Campbell Newman's lies or if people are ready to get out and show that we deserve better.  These seats are home to thousands of public servants who are facing the same situation as you as a result of broken promises on jobs and fair pay, broken promises that are costing all of us.

That's why we're turning our attention to these area to get this message across and make it clear to Campbell Newman, and his local MPs that people in their local area want them to deliver fair pay and a better Queensland. That starts with you, one phone call at a time.

What's involved?

The fight for fair pay is too important to leave to chance. We have a plan to win, to shift the landscape for fair pay and make it clear to Campbell Newman and his MPs that people understand how these lies are costing people in communities right around Queensland. This message is only as strong as members who are prepared to be active and make this happen.

It's as simple as having a chat about your story, asking the people who speak to for their support in supporting you and encouraging them to have their say.

We'll provide training via the phone, a demo video and you'll get all the support you need. Sign up now, even if you're a little bit unsure, and we'll give you a call to talk through it all. We know you'll be great.

It's a great opportunity to cut through the media, the politics as usual to shift the landscape one phone call at a time.

If you have any issues with your RSVP using this form just email us at fairpay@together.org.au with your NAME, NUMBER, WORKPLACE, LOCATION and we'll get you started.

Will you volunteer?
